An area of Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh has been closed off as police investigate the reported serious sexual assault of a teenage girl.
At around 9.50pm on Saturday, officers received a report that a 16-year-old had been attacked in the park.
Police confirmed an area of the park is cordoned off as they investigate the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.50pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 officers received a report that a 16-year-old female had been seriously sexually assaulted within Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Enquiries are ongoing.”
