Popeyes has announced it will open its first restaurant in Edinburgh, marking the fast food chain’s seventh location in Scotland.
The New Orleans-inspired fast food outlet opened its first Scottish store in Barrhead in September 2023, which saw fried chicken enthusiasts queuing up for over 18 hours.
The Edinburgh location will open in spring and be located right in the city centre in the former Halifax building on Princes Street.
It comes as the brand plans to open more than 45 restaurants across the UK throughout 2025.

The menu will include fan favourites like the iconic Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, Tenders and Signature Chicken Wraps.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes UK CEO, said: “An Edinburgh restaurant has been highly requested since we landed in the UK, so I’m delighted that we’re now able to make that a reality.
“We’ve seen our Scottish fans queue for up to 18 hours before an opening to be the first to taste our New Orleans inspired menu and I’m confident our new restaurant on the iconic Princes Street will be equally as popular.”
