A 38-year-old man has been charged with serious assault after an alleged attack on a 49-year-old man.
Police were called to Gorgie Road in Edinburgh on Monday just after 4.20pm.
They said a 49-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
A 38-year-old man was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault which happened on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh around 4.25pm on Monday.
“Emergency services attended and a 49-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.”
