An investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at a homeless hostel in Edinburgh on Monday morning.
Police were called at around 11am on Monday, January 29, to Dunedin Harbour Hostel in the Leith area of the capital.
A 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are now ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
The hostel provides accommodation for homeless people on a short-term and long-term basis.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Monday, 29 January, police were called to an address in Parliament Street, Edinburgh.
“A 35-year-old woman was pronounced dead.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
