A woman who died after a single-car crash in the Scottish Borders has been named.

Sandra Fellowes was taken to hospital after a silver Kia Picanto left the road on the B6404 between St Boswells and Kelso at around 3.20pm on Friday, May 19.

The 55-year-old, from Kelso, was later pronounced dead in Borders General Hospital.

Paying tribute, her family wrote: “Sandra Fellowes passed away on Friday, May 19.

“Sandra will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

“The family thank all for the support they have received and request privacy at this time.”

The road was closed for several hours while recovery and enquiries were carried out and fully re-opened around 10pm the same day.

Police are continuing to carry out enquiries into the circumstances of the crash and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick said: “Our thoughts remain with Sandra’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
