Police have launched an urgent appeal to trace a teenager last seen near a Scottish hospital.

Concerns are growing over the welfare of Lucy Bowe after the 17-year-old disappeared outside St John’s Hospital in Livingston on Friday evening.

Lucy, from Dalkeith, was last seen in the vicinity of the medical facility at around 5.40pm but has failed to contact friends or family members since.

Police are now requesting the help of the public to track her down.

She is described as white, around 5ft 6in in height with a slim build and long blonde hair which was not tied up.

Lucy was said to be wearing a black hooded top with a Swiss cross logo on the chest, black jogging bottoms and black and white Converse high tops when she disappeared.

Police Sergeant Stuart Miller of Broxburn Police Station said : “We are growing increasingly concerned for Lucy and we would appeal to anyone who knows where she is to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2841 of September 2.”
