Police launch search for 40-year-old man last seen two days ago

Police have launched a search for a 40-year-old man last seen two days ago in Edinburgh.

Matthew Ritchie was last seen around 3pm in the Waterfront Park area of the Capital.

Officers are appealing to the public to come forward with any information.

A police statement read: “Officers are appealing for the help of the public to trace a 40-year-old man reported missing in Edinburgh.

“Matthew Ritchie was last seen around 3pm on Wednesday, 18 February, 2026, in the Waterfront Park area of the city.”
