A 15-year-old memorial bench has been thrown into a waterfall at a country park in Clackmannanshire.

Police were called after the bench, positioned at a viewing platform at Alva Glen country park, was vandalised and thrown into the water.

The incident took place between Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15.

Police said “increased patrols” have started in the area in an effort to catch the perpetrators.

A police spokesperson said: “Sometime between Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 14, a memorial bench, which had been in place for over 15 years, positioned on the woodland path at the first viewing platform by the waterfall, was damaged and thrown into the water at the Alva Glen.”

“Local officers have increased patrols in this area.”
