Woman treated in hospital and man injured following street attack 

Police are now appealing for information to establish the full circumstances of the attack.

Police investigating serious assault on man and woman in Musselburgh which left one in Edinburgh hospital Google Maps

A 62-year-old woman was treated in hospital and a 61-year-old man was left injured following a street attack in East Lothian.

Police were called to reports of a serious assault on Stoneybank Terrace in Musselburgh at around 9.30pm on Saturday, August 13.

Both the man and woman were injured in the incident, with the woman requiring treatment at Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary.

Police are now appealing for information to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report on Sunday, August 14, in relation to a serious assault that happened in the Stoneybank Terrace area of Musselburgh.

“The incident happened around 9.30pm on Saturday, August 13, when 61-year-old man and a 62-year old woman were injured. The woman went to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information that can assist our investigation is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 3094 of Sunday, August 14.”
