Police 'concerned' for missing teen last seen wearing pyjamas

Police ‘increasingly concerned’ for welfare of 16-year-old girl missing from Edinburgh Police Scotland

Members of the public are being asked for help in the search for a missing teenage girl.

Layla Kuwahara was reported missing from Edinburgh on Friday, August 26.

The 16-year-old was last seen on East Castle Street in the Merchiston area of the city at around 11.40am.

The teenager is described as being white, of slim build, 5ft 4in, with dark shoulder-length hair.

When last seen, she was wearing light coloured pyjama bottoms and a dark pyjama top.

Sergeant David Porter said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Layla’s welfare and I would urge anyone who has seen her or knows where she is to get in touch.

“Likewise, if Layla sees or hears about this appeal please call us or your family so we know you are safe and well.”
