'Large serrated knife and balaclava' found in police car stop

The driver of the car tested positive on a DrugWipe for cannabis during the stop.

Police in Edinburgh found a ‘large serrated knife and balaclava’ in Leith car which was pulled over Police Scotland

A ‘large serrated knife and balaclava’ was found in a car which was pulled over in Edinburgh, police have revealed.

On Saturday, July 2, a car was pulled over in the Leith area of the capital while officers were on patrol.

When it was searched, officers say that a large serrated knife and balaclava was found inside.

The driver of the car tested positive for cannabis on a DrugWipe and was alleged to have the class B drug in their possession. 

Police arrested the driver and a blood specimen from them was obtained for further testing.

Road policing officers say that enquiries are ongoing regarding the knife.
