An investigation has been launched by police after two homes were broken into in Livingston.

Officers believe that both robberies were carried out by the same man in the early hours of Saturday, June 25.

The first incident took place at around 2.30am at a property in Elm Grove.

A mobile phone and a tablet were taken from the house, whilst a blue Audi A3 (registration SG60 KOB) which was parked on the drive was also stolen.

The second incident took place at the Tower bar in the town’s Adelaide Street at around 4.20am.

A window was smashed at the bar and money worth a four-figure sum was stolen.

Police are now seeking to trace a man who was seen at both locations.

He is described as being of average height and build, wearing a black Nike tracksuit with a distinctive reflective logo across the chest area.

Detective constable Adam Gow, of Livingston CID, said: “We believe the same man is connected with both housebreakings and we are eager to speak to him as part of our investigation.
