An area of the waterfront in Kirkcaldy has been cordoned off after a body of a man was found.
Police were called to a report of a corpse on the beach in the town at 7am on Wednesday.
An investigation into what has happened is under way.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7am on Wednesday, July 14, police received a report of the body of a man found on the beach at Kirkcaldy.
“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
