Body discovered on Arthur's Seat in search for missing man 

The family of the 33-year-old have been informed after officers made the grim discovery on Tuesday afternoon.

A body has been found on Arthur’s Seat in the search for a man missing from Edinburgh.

Douglas Bramley had failed to contact friends or family since Sunday evening and an appeal was launched to locate him shortly afterwards.

The 33-year-old was last seen in the Grange area of the capital at around 9pm.

Officers confirmed the discovery in a wooded area near Dunsapie Loch on Tuesday afternoon.

Formal identification of the body is yet to take place, but police have informed Bramley’s family.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A statement read: “Earlier today the body of a man was found in a wooded area near Dunsapie Loch, Edinburgh.

“Formal identification has still to take place, however, the family of Douglas Bramley, 33, who was missing from Edinburgh on Sunday have been informed and are being supported by police.
