A country park in Fife will be transformed into into a leading tourist attraction if major redevelopment plans are successful.
The development at Lochore Meadows looks to introduce 80 new holiday lodges, office and retail space along with other amenities to the land north of the Meedies’ western access.
A proposed planning application notice, which includes converting an agricultural shed on the Kelty side of the park into a cafe, has been lodged by W Thomson and Sons.
The proposals cover an area next to the Fife Council-owned land which forms the 1200-acre country park.
The site is positioned off the B996 on the opposite side of the country park.
There are plans to build a new car park and site access to deal with the increase in visitors.
The planning application notice was agreed this week and a planning application will follow in due course.
