A person was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling 125ft near castle ruins in Borders.
Coastguard rescue teams from Eyemouth, Dunbar and Berwick were called along with the St Abbs lifeboat, the Scottish Ambulance Service, Police Scotland and the coastguard rescue helicopter to the casualty at around 4.50am on Sunday morning.
The person had fallen 125ft down a “steep incline” in the vicinity of Fast Castle, the Eyemouth coastguard said.
Once stabilised, the casualty was moved to a stretcher and then transported to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by the coastguard helicopter.
A spokesperson for the Eyemouth coastguard added: “If you see anyone in danger on our cliffs, coastline or on the water, always dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
