Pensioner pronounced dead at scene of three car crash in West Lothian SAS

A man has died following a crash involving three cars in West Lothian.

The 78-year-old was driving a red Vauxhall Combo on Harthill Road, Blackridge, when it collided with a white Citroen Berlingo and a parked blue Mazda 3 at around 9.40am on Monday.

Emergency services attended and the pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Citroen was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh as a precaution.

Road policing officers are now appealing for information and have asked witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Kosmas Papakyriakou said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened and would like to speak to anyone who has not already been in touch with officers.

“If you saw anything that could help or have dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation then please get in touch.”
