An elderly pedestrian has died following a hit and run in Alloa.
The incident occurred on Burgh Mews around 4pm on Monday and involved a 90-year-old woman and a van.
Emergency services were called but prior to the police arriving at the scene, the van involved in the crash left.
The pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short time later the van and driver were traced by police, but enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened.
The road was closed for around four hours to allow investigations to be conducted.
Police are now asking anyone who saw what happened, or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Jack Swindells of the Forth Valley Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who sadly lost her life.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who saw what happened, and has not yet spoken to officers, to come forward.
“Anyone with any information or dashcam footage which may assist is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 2366 of July 18, 2022.”
