A pensioner has been arrested after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted in a park’s public toilets in Edinburgh.
The teenager is said to have been attacked in the facility on the east side of The Meadows in Edinburgh on Friday, April 15.
During the alleged assault, a member of the public is said to have entered the toilets prompting the suspect to leave.
Police have now confirmed an 88-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident, as enquiries continue.
A police spokesperson: “An 88-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault in the Meadows, Edinburgh on Friday, April 15, 2022.
“Enquiries are continuing.”
