A 25-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in Edinburgh.
The man, a pedestrian, was struck by the vehicle at around 5.10am on Saturday morning, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident took place on the A720 Edinburgh City bypass.
A 39-year-old man, who was driving the BMW 3 Series car that hit the man, was not injured in the collision.
Police closed the road until 12.40pm on September 3 for an investigation at the scene.
Officers are carrying out enquiries and have urged anyone who may have information to contact them.
Sergeant Barry Sommerville of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friend at this difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would ask anyone with information which could help to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage which could help our investigation.
“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 0714 of September 3.”
