A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in the Scottish Borders.
The collision occurred around 12.50pm on Saturday on the A698 Kelso to Hawick road near to Heiton and involved a white Volkswagen and a black Volvo.
The female driver of the Volkswagen was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash.
She has been named as 61-year-old Patricia Kim Common from Yeovil in Somerset.
The 44-year-old male driver of the Volvo was taken to Borders General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries following the collision.
Sergeant Mark Banner, from Police Scotland’s road policing unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash who saw anything or has dash-cam footage that could assist with our enquiries to please come forward.
“If you can assist our investigation please contact us on 101, quoting incident 1549 of Saturday April 2.”
