A man has died and another is fighting for his life in hospital following a crash in Fife.

A black Seat Leon car was involved in a collision at the junction between the B996 and the B9097 near Blairadam at around 10.50pm on Sunday.

Emergency services attended, and a 22-year-old man, a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 21-year-old male driver was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where his condition is described as life-threatening.

A 20-year-old man, also a passenger, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed for over ten hours to allow for investigations.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area or witnessed the crash to come forward.

Sergeant David Farr said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the crash and witnessed what happened, or has any dashcam footage which could assist, to please get in touch with officers.”
