A body found near Glenrothes has been confirmed as that of a missing man.
Ross McLean, 34, was last seen in the Balgonie Place area of the Fife town on August 14.
Officers confirmed on Friday that his body was found near to Glenrothes at around 4.45pm on August 19.
When the discovery was first made, his partner Tasha took to social media, writing: “Just sharing this as been asked numerous times if was him. Answer, yes.
“My heart is broken and will be forever.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The body of a man found near to Glenrothes on Friday, August 19 has been formally identified as missing person Ross McLean.
“Ross’ family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
