One man is in hospital after a rush hour crash closed the M8 westbound near Junction 2 with drivers told to avoid area.
Traffic had been building up on the motorway after the collision shortly after 8am on Thursday near Broxburn, West Lothian.
Emergency services were called and Police Scotland advised drivers to avoid the area.
Traffic Scotland previously said vehicles were able to crawl past the incident but police then confirmed the M8 had been closed.
At 11.10am, police said the M8 had reopened at Junction 2.

“The M8 at Junction 2 has reopened following an earlier road crash.,” Police Scotland Edinburgh said.
“One man was taken to hospital.
“Thank you for your patience.”
