Police Scotland say they are “very concerned” for the welfare of a missing 12-year-old girl in Fife.

Charlotte Scott was last seen at a property on Ballingry Crescent in Lochgelly at around 1am on Thursday.

She is described as around 5ft6, of slim build, with mousy brown hair and glasses.

The 12-year-old is believed to be wearing black leggings and white Crocs.

Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace Charlotte, who also has links to the Glenrothes area.

Sergeant Lewis Greig said: “We are very concerned about Charlotte’s wellbeing, particularly given her age, and it is important we make contact with her to confirm she is ok.

“We are asking anyone who thinks they may have seen Charlotte, or who has any information regarding her whereabouts, to contact us.

“We are also appealing directly to Charlotte to please get in touch with someone to let us know she is safe and well.”

Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0566 of Thursday, April 23, 2026.
