Officers have said they are “concerned” for the welfare of a teenage girl who has been reported missing in Edinburgh.

Mikalah Starkey, 18, was last seen in Restalrig between 4pm and 5pm on Thursday.

She is described as 5ft 6in tall, with shoulder length dyed blonde hair with dark roots.

When she was last seen she was wearing a blue jacket, a grey jumper and leggings and carrying a backpack.

Inspector Grant McCulloch said: “Mikalah is a vulnerable person and that gives us concern for her welfare at this time. She is known to take the bus to the city centre where she frequents both the St James Quarter and Ocean Terminal.

“Officers are searching those areas and checking CCTV and have also been liaising with bus companies in an effort to trace her.

“If you have seen Mikalah, or have any information as to where she is, then please get in touch with police via 101 quoting reference number 2834 of Thursday, March 21, 2024.

“We’d also ask Mikalah herself to get in touch with police or return home so we can make sure she is safe and well.”
