A police officer has been suspended over the alleged rape of another officer at a training college in Fife.
The force confirmed that an investigation led by a team of specialist officers was launched following the incident at the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan, in Kincardine, on Friday, October 14.
The college, which opened in 1954, is used as a key training site with a variety of courses held there, including basic training.
It also acts as Police Scotland’s corporate headquarters.
Assistant chief constable Alan Spiers confirmed a police officer had been suspended as the investigation continues.
He said: “A report of a serious sexual assault was received on Friday, October 14, 2022, and an investigation by a team of specialist officers was launched immediately.
“An officer was also suspended at that time.
“He remains suspended while this investigation continues.”
