Emergency services met a United Airlines flight as it landed on Monday following a “medical situation” onboard.

Flight UA36, between Newark, New Jersey and Edinburgh, began to squawk 7700 upon approach to the capital at around 9.53am.

Once it landed on the runway, the plane was met by emergency services, which arrived to assist the passenger who had fallen ill.

A spokesperson from United said: “Upon its scheduled arrival at Edinburgh Airport, United flight 36 was immediately met by emergency services to assist a customer’s medical situation.”
