Police have released new images of an escaped prisoner who fled custody whilst being transported to hospital.
Steven Ross, 33, was being escorted from HMP Addiewell in West Lothian to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh when he made his great escape.
The incident happened last Wednesday at around 5.20pm and officers are continuing to appeal for information to trace his whereabouts.
Recent enquiries have confirmed that Ross travelled to – and may still be in – the Greater Glasgow area.
He is also known to have links to other areas of Scotland.
Members of the public are being advised not to approach Ross but to contact police immediately.
Superintendent Mark Rennie said: “It has now been a week since Steven escaped and we are continuing to appeal for any information that will help trace him.
“I would like to advise members of the public to not approach Steven Ross if you do see him, but instead, contact police immediately.”
If you have any information on Ross’ whereabouts, call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
