Two teenage boys are being sought after they knocked on a woman’s door an threw a hot drink at her.

At around 2.55pm on Wednesday, March 29, a 20-year-old woman was at a house in the Clark Avenue area of Musselburgh when she answered the door to two male youths.

One of the boys, aged between 14 and 15 years old, threw a takeaway cup containing a hot drink at her, before making off in an unknown direction.

The woman suffered injuries to her face and chest and has been left “badly shaken”, police said.

The suspects have been described as white, around 5ft 1in tall, and of medium builds.

They were both wearing all black clothing with their hoods up.

Police constable Michael Carde said: “This was an unprovoked attack and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward to assist with our enquiries.

“We are particularly interested in anyone who may have CCTV in the area, to check their footage between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.”
