Murder investigation launched and suspect charged after man dies in house

A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man found injured at a house in Whitburn.

Police were called to the address in the Gilchrist Crescent area around 2.20pm on December 19.

A 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been named as Grzegorz Bialy.

Rafal Niewojt appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday, where he was charged with murder.

The 48-year-old from Whitburn made no plea and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before the court again within eight days.
