A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving a parked tipper van in Midlothian.
Emergency services were called to the B6372 at Newlanderigg near Gorebridge around 7.10am on Thursday morning following the collision, which involved a yellow Honda GLR 125 motorbike and a white Ford Transit 350 tipper.
The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition is described as serious but stable.
The road was closed for crash investigation work and re-opened around 11.30am.
Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“We are also asking drivers in the area around the time of the crash to check any dash-cam they have to see if something has been captured that could help with our investigation.”
