Motorcyclist fighting for life in hospital after serious crash

The motorcyclist, aged 59, was rushed to hospital and the road was closed for several hours.

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after a serious road crash on the B9157.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 1.30pm on Wednesday near Kirkcaldy.

A 59-year-old man driving a blue Kawasaki motorbike was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where staff describe his condition as critical.

The road was closed and reopened around 11.20pm.

Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact us. We would particularly like to speak to two people who assisted the man following the crash.

“Any drivers with dash-cam footage that may help assist our enquiries to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1826 of August 16, 2023.”
