A motorcyclist has died following a three-vehicle crash in the Borders.
Emergency services were called shortly after 12.20am on Wednesday to the crash on the A68, at Earlston, which involved a red and cream Moto Guzzi motorbike, a silver Ford Eco-sport, and a white DAF lorry.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 70-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
Police are now appealing for information to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
The road was closed and re-opened around 5.30pm.
Sergeant Grant Hastie said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and they have asked for privacy at this time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who has not already spoken to officers and who can assist to get in touch.”
