A motorcyclist has died and another is fighting for his life in hospital following a crash involving two bikes and a car on the A85.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the three-vehicle collision at Glenogle near Crianlarich at around 5.30pm on Sunday, May 5.

The incident involved two motorbikes – a Triumph Tiger and a Suzuki GSXR – and a Toyota Yaris car.

The 50-year-old male rider of the Suzuki was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 54-year-old male rider of the Triumph was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital where his condition has been described as “critical”.

The two occupants of the Toyota car, a male driver and female passenger, did not require medical treatment.

The stretch of the major road was closed for ten hours to allow for crash investigations to take place, and fully reopened after 3.40am on Monday.

Officers said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

Road Policing Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“As our enquiries continue, I’d appeal to anyone with information to come forward. I’d be particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the area around the time.”
