The mother of a man who was found dead alongside his girlfriend at a property in Fife has said a “hole has been left in her heart”.

Emergency services were called to an address in Orchardgate, Cupar at around 12.40pm on Tuesday, where a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were found dead at the scene.

They have been named as Kieran Nelson and Tianna Charite. The cause of the deaths has not been confirmed.

Wendy Nelson, Kieran’s mother, has paid tribute to the couple and revealed she is “heartbroken”.

She told STV News: “I just want to say he’s left a hole in my heart along aside plenty of others.

“He stayed at my house a few times with Tianna. She was a good lassie.

“Words can’t explain how much I am heartbroken.”

The mother of the late 23-year-old went on to reveal how “devastated” the family is, including his siblings.

She added: “He was the life and soul of any party he would be at, he would always contact me and was an amazing big brother to all his siblings.

“He always looked after them and took them out on events like crazy golf and to the beach.

“He taught his little brother Jay how to play football.

“We are all devastated. I just can’t believe he’s gone, he will be very missed.

“I have not had the time to thank all my family for donating all the money to me for Kieran. They have took a big chunk off my shoulders to help make my son have a amazing funeral if it wasn’t for them I would never be able to give Kieran this amazing send off.

“Thanks to everyone one, and for all my cards and flowers.

A friend of the couple paid tribute on social media. Caz Logie wrote: “This is a massive shock to everyone out there. Can’t believe I am reading this.

“So heartbreaking. To a young couple who lost their lives at a young age.”

A fundraiser has been launched in an effort to help Kieran’s family pay for funeral costs. You can donate here.

Police said the deaths are not thought to be suspicious and that a report would be issued to the procurator fiscal.
