Pedestrian taken to hospital after being struck by car 

Police confirmed that Herd Terrace in Loanhead had been closed after a pedestrian was struck by a car around 7am.

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital and a road has been closed due to a rush hour collision in Midlothian.

Police confirmed that Herd Terrace in Loanhead was closed after a pedestrian was struck by a car around 7am.

It’s been confirmed that the male pedestrian was taken to hospital for further treatment.

The crash happened Dryden Road and Dryden Avenue.

Emergency Services attended the scene and drivers have been asked to avoid the area where possible.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car at Herd Terrace in Loanhead around 7am on Tuesday, December 19.

“The male pedestrian has been taken to hospital and enquiries remain ongoing.

“The road is currently closed between Dryden Road and Dryden Terrace.”
