Police have launched an investigation after two groups of men armed with knives faced off near Edinburgh Waverley Station.
Officers confirmed they were made aware of a group of men causing a disturbance on Princes Street at around 7.20pm on Monday.
In video footage seen by STV News, a group of three can be seen confronting a group of two in the middle of the street, with all involved wearing black balaclavas.
Some of the group appeared to be brandishing knives.
The area was subsequently searched with no trace of the suspects, and there were no reports of any injuries.
The force confirmed that searches for the groups involved are ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a group of men causing a disturbance on Princes Street in Edinburgh around 7.20pm on Monday, October 13, 2025.
“The area has been searched with no trace of anyone in the area and no one has presented as injured.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
