Manhunt after woman’s handbag snatched in broad daylight in Stirling Google Maps

A manhunt is under way after a woman’s bag was snatched in broad daylight near Stirling Castle.

The incident occurred at around 10.20am on Friday, March 31, in the Upper Castlehill area.

A 27-year-old woman was walking when she was approached by a man who took her handbag.

The suspect is described as being around 25 to 35 years of age, of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey zipped and hooded top.

He was last seen heading in the direction of St Mary’s Wynd.

Detective Sergeant Gavin McLuskey said: “This was a distressing incident and the woman was left understandably shaken.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who saw anyone matching the description to contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland at 101 quoting incident 1026 of 31 March, 2023.
