A convicted thug was caught on camera brutally attacking a woman in the street.
Henry Laverty turned on the woman who was left with a number of fractured ribs.
CCTV of the incident was played at the High Court in Glasgow.
The pair began arguing while walking along the street in Clackmannan on September 21 last year.
Laverty, 37, was captured then repeatedly kicking the woman forcefully and punching her on the head.
Describing the attack, prosecutor William Frain-Bell KC said he continued hit the woman while she was on the ground.
This included stamping and spitting on her.
Laverty also yelled at the woman who tried to calm him down.
The woman managed to get up but was seen in obvious discomfort.
The court heard she suffered six fractured ribs and bruising and also complained of a sore jaw.
The victim initially claimed to police she did not know how she was hurt.
But she gave a further interview when it emerged that the attack had been caught on CCTV.
Laverty, of Alloa, pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman to her severe injury.
Mr Frain-Bell said Laverty already had 49 previous convictions.
He was previously jailed at the high court for an attack on his ex-partner.
Commenting on the footage shown at the hearing, Laverty’s KC Tony Lenehan said: “It makes grim viewing indeed.”
Prosecutors have moved for a full risk assessment to be carried out on Laverty, which could eventually see him hit with an Order for Lifelong Restriction.
Judge Douglas Brown continued his remand in custody as the case was adjourned until next month.
