A man who raped a teenage girl and a sleeping woman has been jailed for eight years.
Darren Glass, 30, preyed on an underage teenage girl and subjected a woman to repeated abuse at addresses in Fife.
Glass, from Kirkcaldy in Fife, had denied a series of charges during an earlier trial but was convicted of raping both victims.
A judge told him at the High Court in Edinburgh that given the nature and circumstances of the rape offences there was no alternative to a significant custodial sentence.
Judge Simon Collins KC said he had read victim impact statements detailing the effects of his crimes on the females, including flashbacks and difficulty sleeping.
He made non-harassment orders banning Glass from contacting or attempting to contact victims for 15 years.
Glass sexually assaulted and raped a 15-year-old girl between November 1 and December 31, 2021 at a house in Kirkcaldy.
He also raped a woman between April 1 and June 30, 2021 at a house near Lochgelly, in Fife. The assault began when she was asleep but continued after she woke up. He also carried out a sex attack on her later that year at an address in Glenrothes.
Defence counsel Paul Nelson KC said that the previous offending was for road traffic offences and he has continued to deny the sex crimes in a background report prepared on him.
Glass was told that he would be on the sex offenders register indefinitely following his sentencing.
