Tributes have been paid to a man who died after getting into difficulty while scuba diving off the coast of Fife.
Les Elder, from Saline, died at the scene of the organised dive near Kinghorn Beach, Burntisland, on Sunday at around 9.10am.
Diving teams, ambulance crews and police took part in the rescue operation, while a coastguard helicopter was seen landing on the beach.
Kinghorn RNLI was also tasked to assist a dive boat.
The 45-year-old’s body was recovered from the water but died a short time later.
His family have asked for privacy and released the following statement: “Les was a much loved family man and will be missed by everyone who knew him.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “With all sudden deaths, a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
