Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked while out on a walk in East Calder, West Lothian, on October 14.

A man was taken to hospital with a facial injury after being attacked on a street in West Lothian.

Emegency services were called to Overshiel Road, in East Calder, after receiving reports of man being assaulted unprovoked while out on a walk with a friend at around 11.30pm on October 14.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a facial injury.

Police are searching for a man who is white, around 5ft. 8 inches in height with short, brown hair.

He spoke with a local accent and was wearing light coloured trousers and a red or orange puffer jacket at the time of the attack.

Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and checking CCTV cameras for any relevant footage.

Constable Kiara Penman said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us. This has been an unprovoked attack and it’s imperative we trace the man responsible. If you have any information, please pass it on.”

Anyone with information is asked to all Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2222 of 20 October, 2023. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be passed on anonymously.
