A man was taken to hospital after being “seriously assaulted” on a high street in West Lothian.
Emergency services were called to West Main Street in Broxburn at around 10.20pm on Wednesday after reports of a serious assault.
Police Scotland said a 37-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment on injuries following the incident.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident, and has since been released on an undertaking and will later appear in court.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.20pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, officers received a report of a serious assault on West Main Street, Broxburn.
“A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection. He was released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.”
