Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Bogwood Road in Mayfield at around 8.10pm on Monday.
A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.
No arrests have been made in connection with the disturbance.
An investigation is ongoing to identify the individuals involved.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.10pm on Monday, police received a report of a disturbance involving a group of people on Bogwood Road, Mayfield. Emergency services attended and a 24-year-old man was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.
“Officers remain in the area, and enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved.”
