Man suffers serious injuries after argument in street

Police have appealed for information after an altercation in Edinburgh left a man with serious injuries.

A man has been left with serious injuries after an argument broke out on a street in Edinburgh.

The incident happened around 10.30pm on Wednesday on Hawkhill Avenue, in the Restalrig area of the capital.

A 27-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment for his injuries.

He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Two men, aged 41 and 48, and a 34-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police are urging the public to come forward with information as they look to trace another individual they believe was involved in the incident.

Detective Inspector Clark Martin said: “Our enquiries continue to trace a further individual believed to be involved in the incident and we’d urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or has any information that could assist our investigation to come forward.”
