Alan SimpsonA man is in hospital with serious arm injuries after reports of a shooting in Edinburgh.
Armed police were called to the Hailesland Gardens area after the alarm was raised at around 3.40pm on Thursday.
A 23-year-old man attended hospital for treatment to serious injuries sustained to his arm in the incident. No other injuries have been reported.
Officers, including armed police, descended on the scene and searches of the area were carried out.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection and investigations are ongoing.
The public has been told to expect a continued police presence in the area.
