A man is seriously injured in hospital after being knocked down by a car in Fife.

At around 12.50am on Sunday a 37-year-old pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Broad Street in Cowdenbeath.

Emergency services attended and the casualty was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. His current condition is unknown.

The road was closed and reopened at around 10.50am.

Road policing officers are appealing for information, especially from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.

Constable Paul MacPherson said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.

“We would be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.

“Anyone with information or footage can contact officers on 101 quoting incident number 0179 of Sunday, October 2, 2022.”
