A man has been rushed to hospital following a disturbance at a home in Edinburgh.

The 32-year-old sustained injuries amid reports of an incident involving a “weapon” at the property on Parkgrove Road in the Clermiston area of the capital on Saturday evening.

Police locked down the area for several hours after responding to initial calls shortly before 8pm.

The man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for further treatment where he remains.

An initial probe into the disturbance is now under way, but officers say any enquiries remain at an early stage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Saturday, August 28, officers were called to a report of a disturbance on Parkgrove Road in Edinburgh.

“A 32-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he remains.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
