A man has been rushed to hospital following an early hours “disturbance” in Edinburgh city centre.
The 23-year-old was reportedly involved in an altercation at the junction of Leith Street and Princes Street in front of several other people.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene shortly after 2.50am on Friday, June 17 before the man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for further treatment.
A 33-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.
Detective sergeant Keith Taylor said: “We can see from CCTV images that other people may have been involved and I am asking these members of the public to contact us.
“I am sure their information will assist in our investigation. If you were in Princes Street at its junction with Leith Street in the early hours of this morning, please get in touch with us.
“Any small piece of information could prove vital.”
